WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT DOLL HOUSES? The National Trust Australia (Victoria) is developing a major exhibition on doll houses for winter 2021/summer 2022. The exhibition will explore the doll house from its traditional form to the space it occupies in the virtual and intangible world.
Featuring over 35 doll houses from the late 1800s to the present day, together with furniture, accessories, installations, ephemera and immersive experiences, the exhibition will unlock the imagination of makers, collectors, designers and players and reveal the stories hidden in their miniature worlds.
EPHEMERA OF DOLL HOUSES? WHAT IS THAT?
Doll houses were predominantly imported but local doll house manufacturers existed (a side line for some furniture companies) and there were many home made houses. We are seeking ephemera and reference articles such as catalogues with toy houses/accessories for sale, magazine articles – create your own doll house, advertising, toy catalogues, make-do toy conversion instructions and packaging.
Any assistance/leads would be very much appreciated. Many thanks
