Monday 2 July, 11 am free talk from ESA member, Mary Newsome. Pop-up book, haiku on a kimono, artist’s bookish record of life.
Mary Newsome is a lifelong artist whose artist’s books have been exhibited in and acquired for major galleries and libraries. Paper and colour are her tools. Charming and thought-provoking, the artist takes us through this focused or sometimes tangential written and visual record of the experiences of the French cake shop and the Australian bush. Delightful and gorgeous books.
The illustrated talk with the artist books on hand is at the Royal Historical Society, 239 A’Beckett Street Melbourne.
