ESA RECENTLY FIELDED A QUESTION ABOUT THE VALUE OF OLDER NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAPS. My own guess was $0 but that’s not quite right.
Luckily I asked our member and map seeker Gerry Dorset, and he advised:
Thirty year old National Geographic maps are worth about $5 each. Sixty year old maps are worth about $10 each. Maps of regions that have experience boundary changes can be worth a bit more. For example, Vietnam when occupied by the French, or Africa before countries gained independence, or the Balkans before Yugoslavia was divided. Sixty year old maps of the world and Antarctica are worth $25Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.Best regards, GerryJane and Gerry DorsetBrighton Antique Prints and Maps388 Bay Street Brighton Vic 3186 AustraliaPh: (03) 9596 9669
