SUNDAY 14 NOVEMBER, STARTING AT 11 AM IN NAGAMBIE, A MEETING FOR PEOPLE INTERESTED IN COLLECTING.
The Nagambie Historical Society invites you to: ‘Out of the box; collectables and ephemera show and tell’, come and work out:
- Are you a collector or a hoarder? Are you preserving history or junk?
- What other people like to collect and why? Did it start with a childhood favourite like a comic book? Did your sister get a school badge and you didn’t? Did your parents burn everything in the incinerator and you never got to keep the school certificate, the showbag? Were you a teen Beatles fan? Is your collection a set of walking sticks that your grandpa used? Or some old cooking booklets that you found in your grandmother’s house when you were clearing out?
Bring your own collection. We will have some displays and a talk about collecting from the President of the Ephemera (EfemerU) Society who will show you some of the usually paper collectables that the society members keep. Please consider telling the story behind your special item or items.
