Hoarder or historian? Is our history in a drawer, a scrapbook, or a curated collection?
I, Mandy Bede, will be taking up one of my last ESA president activities on 29 July 2025. My talk will focus on a selection from Ephemera Society member collections, teasing out the theme of how our history is preserved. I will be showing examples of printed Australian ephemeral material from the sublime to the mundane. Regardless of how these items have been collected and preserved, or by whom, or for whatever reason, they form part of the remarkable commonwealth of documents that record our past.
The talk will be followed by a late morning tea and so the opportunity to talk about ephemera.
