Australia day badges – piece of social history
There is an evolution in the way that badges are manufactured. But these badges are of interest for other reasons.
In the first half of the 20th century in Australia, the sale of badges played a large part in fundraising. Secondly support for all kinds of patriotic and charitable causes was demonstrated by the wearing of badges.
Finally, these badges are of especial interest now as they show the celebration of Australia Day in July. That is, our current debate about the sanctity of 26 January is ill informed. Valued by Rick Milne $35.
