THE BACK PAGE OF OUR JOURNAL FEATURES MANY SMALL EXAMPLES OF ONE TYPE OF EPHEMERA, for the next issue ESA member, journal designer and collector Mimmo Cozzolino would like to BORROW badges from the last 50 years. He is looking for:
- A range of sizes and shapes;
- A variety of causes and purposes:
- political (causes, party political);
- advertising;
- anniversaries (Victoria’s 150th, Australia’s bicentenary);
- sport (Melbourne Olympic bid);
- events;
- promotions;
- organizations/companies;
- etc.

I would like to identify each one with at least a circa date (if an accurate date is not available).I therefore need to pick badges that collectors know something about.I have about 30 – here they are:Badges are impossible to keep apart if we are borrowing from different sources. We should identify them straight away with some strong self-adhesive labels as they are here:I would like about 100 badges so I can edit down to about 40 or so.

Hey Mimmo
I’d love to contribute badges to your selection. Happy to email a pic. I have:
‘I’m nuts on National Parks’ circa 80s.
‘Better active today than radioactive tomorrow’.
‘Gone to pot’ (with an image of Margaret Thatcher flipping the bird).
‘Tim’s Club’ (membership of Tim the Toyman’s kid’s club, circa 1970s, Melbourne).
Plus a few music and movie badges.
Let me know!
Cheers,
Sas.
