There is an evolution in the way that badges are manufactured. But these badges are of interest for other reasons.

In the first half of the 20^th century in Australia, the sale of badges played a large part in fundraising. Secondly support for all kinds of patriotic and charitable causes was demonstrated by the wearing of badges.
